I know it's something simple like riding the tube to a place where I hop on a bus that connects from Paddington direct to the airport.How do I get to Heathrow Airport from a hotel in Westminster?

Your best bet is to travel by tube from Westminster to Hammersmith, the change there is on the same platform, no stairs/lifts etc, from Hammersmith straight to heathrow
Underground is cheaper and more convenient and easier for you and takes you right into the terminal.
