Better than struggling up ramps and stairs and walking forever to use a slightly cheaper train or an airport shuttle bus.

I wouldn't say that the trains are the cheapest option as you pay more for Trains entering Mascot(Airport Link).Buses would definitely be the cheapest to the Airport or these days you see alot of private operators driving backpackers to the Airport for $10 per person.
The trains in Sydney go direct from the airport to central city.


Just ask either your travel agent or the reservationist at the Ibis which stop to get off at.
